"How come you're always such a fussy young man?
Don't want no Cap'n Crunch.  Don't want no raisin bran.
Don't you know that other kids are starving in Japan?
So eat it.  Just eat it."
"Eat It" by Weird Al Yankovic

"If you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday."
Isaiah 58:10

The Bible has a lot to say about having regard for the poor and hungry.  Even Weird Al Yankovic had something to say about it.  Most of us live in a world  where food is abundant and we don't have to experience true hunger.  But unfortunately, that's not the case for millions of people all over the world and in our own community.

As you sit down to dinner tonight, be mindful of God's blessings and think of ways that you can let your light shine through the darkness for those who suffer from physical hunger.

The initial campaign of "First Serve" is simply about raising awareness for the World Hunger Offering. Three times a week from now until May 10th, the Missions Committee of FBC will be providing snippets about world hunger, ways FBC is engaging the issue, and small steps of engagement.

Spread the word, connect others to this initiative and by May 10th, let us have raised awareness and support working together to end hunger.
