May is the month when we turn our mission focus to World Hunger. We take this time to pause and reflect not only on what is going on in the world around us, but also on what our Lord calls us to do about it. As a way to begin this time of reflection, the Missions/Ministries Committee invites you to join us for a World Hunger Awareness Dinner, on Wednesday, May 6. The Committee will provide, during our regular dinner service time, a simple meal of rice, beans, bread and fruit. These foods are indicative of the staple foods of the diets of many cultures around the world. Half the price of the meal (the usual $5.00) will go to our World Hunger offering. During our Midweek Moorings program time, we will participate in activities to help us become more aware of how hunger and poverty are affecting our neighbors in the world and what we can do to answer Christ's call to love our neighbors as ourselves.

One Wednesday night is not going to change the world. But we can use that time to begin to change our hearts, minds and spirits. God will take it from there.
