I cried out to God for
help; I cried out to God to hear me. Psalm 77:1
Overwhelmed.
Overcome.
Undone.
Surrounded by so much
sorrow, so many needs, how do we find ourselves amongst this misery and what
are we supposed to feel?
Happiness? Even in the
moment of another’s pain?
Joy as our neighbor
cries for their loss?
Who mourns with us when
we can take no more?
From where does our
support come?
How do we reconcile
ourselves to this world?
Such
darkness. We yearn for a glimpse of hope.
What do you want from
us, God?
Where are you when we
ask, “Where are
you?”
---
And how do we fit into
this intricate equation?
Meeting our own needs
while being You for others?
Always one more group
to serve, leaving us empty.
When do we stop and
look inward at our lone, anxious selves if we are always busy reflecting you to
others in Jesus’ stead?
We long for your peace
with our innermost being.
Spirit
level.
Remind us that we are
enough.
Enough.
What we do is enough.
What we say is enough.
You are enough.
Fill us with your love
for ourselves.
Give us Peace.
Mercy.
Grace.
Restore us, O God; make
your face shine on us, that we may be saved. Psalm 80:3
Do you listen when God reminds you to take time for yourself? Do you trust that He is enough?
