Children in Waco, Texas are learning the importance of vegetables and how to live healthy lives. With support from the Texas Baptist Offering for World Hunger, Matt and Bethel, two interns with the World Hunger Relief Farm's Urban Gardening program, help start gardens in Waco schools in areas where children do not have access to fresh vegetables. The children learn about nutrition, plant many different kinds of vegetables, and learn how to prepare and eat what they grow! The children also learn that taking care of their bodies is important for their entire life.
Written by Ginger Young, this is an abstract of the Mission emphasis story for Vacation Bible School, Planting Seeds of Hope-Day 1.
