First Baptist Church is a place where individuals respond to the word of scripture and seek their own interpretation. Where Separation of Church and State and religious liberty are taken very seriously. Where we hold our Baptist beliefs with deep conviction but we hold them in modesty.

» Volunteers Needed for Landscaping Project March 9 and 23
The Communications Committee and Properties Committee have been
working together on a joint project to freshen up church landscaping with
colorful flowers and plants.
With Easter Sunday approaching ,VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDEDto roll up their sleeves to assist in
the preparation and planting. Two workdays, Saturday, March 9 and
Saturday, March 23, have been scheduled from 9 am to 1 pm. Volunteers are
asked to bring hand tools and shovels labeled with their name. Workday
participants will also want to bring water to drink, sunscreen, and appropriate
shoes and clothes for working outside. Lunch will be provided.
Long-time FBC member and award-winning landscape architect Bob
Anderson has generously donated his services to design a landscaping plan and
coordinate the project for the church.
To make room for new plants, amaryllis plants donated by Johnny
and Wilma Jones will either be transplanted on the property or sold for $10
each on Sunday, March 10 before and after Worship.
Bob Anderson said Johnny Jones had donated the plants to FBC because
they were his favorite blooming plant. “He had them in his home in west
Austin and loved them so much that he wanted them in front of his church, “ Bob
said. The plants have been on the FBC property for at least 15 years.
“Johnny always loved the outdoors and helped maintain the grounds of his
church. We hope some of these plants will be sold to members who would like to
take a little bit of Johnny and Wilma home with them,” he said.
Please call the church at 512-476-2625 if you have any questions.
