Invite a Friend to Church October 7th for First Sunday Event

On Sunday, October 7th, First Baptist Church of Austin will host a First Sunday event to mark the first Sunday of Fall and celebrate 165 years of being “First” in Austin. FBC members are encouraged to invite a family member, co-worker, neighbor, associate, or friend to join in the festivities and special day of fellowship, food, music, and worship.

From 9:30 until 10:45 am on the church plaza, we will have complimentary breakfast tacos and music performed by Austin folk singers and FBC members Grant and Amy Hudson-Downing. This casualFirst Sunday celebration is open to all church members, and we want to encourage visitors to take a “first look” at FBC as well.

FBC Senior Pastor Dr. Roger Paynter and various ministers, deacons, and FBC members will be on hand to greet visitors and provide information about our church and various programs. At 11 am, all attendees will be invited to join in our worship service and hear a special message from Dr. Paynter as well as participate in a World Communion Sunday, a day in which churches world-wide offer communion featuring breads and music from many nations.

“We all know at least one person that we have wanted to invite to church. This is a wonderful opportunity to do just that,” Dr. Paynter said.

“Casual Sunday” dress attire will be appropriate.

If you have any questions regarding the First Sunday event, please contact Karen Cappolino in the church office at 512-476-2625.
