March 28, at 6:00 p.m., you are invited to grab a bowl of chili, enjoy some amazing performances, and donate money to the Water’s Edge College Mission Trip to Chile. The following students will travel to Temuco to work at the Fundacion Para Amar: Glenn Adkins, Elizabeth Avant, Naomi Broadway, Katherine Henderson, Grant Miller, Meredith Norris, Lauren Solsbery, David Strickland, Anna Taylor and Molly Thompson. Together with sponsors Steve Mines and Ann Pittman, they will work at a girls home in Christian service to children at social risk.
Pay just $5 and sample multiple chili recipes from some of FBC’s finest cooks including Terry Arthur, Greg Grounds, David Matthews, Gloria McCullough, Jane Nethercut, Bob Ramsey, Paul Sparks, Robert Strickland, Willard Teel, Bruce Thompson, David Wheelock, Albert Young and more! Vote for your favorite recipe by putting dollar bills in their buckets!
Walk around and learn from the students’ visual presentations on aspects of Chile including religion, politics, Baptist missionary work, the Fundacion Para Amor, and climate/geography.
Enjoy performances by Cantamos, students going on the trip, and several of FBC’s own actors and singers. Student performances include Anna's giving a monologue, Elizabeth's and Lauren's singing,
Naomi's dancing, Grant's playing the guitar, and David's playing the trombone. Enjoy additional performances by Amy Downing, Grant Hudson, Linda Miller Raff, Linda Ramsey, Ann Pittman and more! To show your appreciation for this evening of entertainment, you will receive ample opportunities (and gentle nudgings) by our Emcee to write a check to the Chile Mission Fund.
Join us in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church, Saturday, March 28, at 6:00p
